Please mark your calendar for our October 5th meeting. Our speaker will be Mr. Joel Anderson, Director of the S.C. Department of Corrections, which oversees more than 4,000 employees who care for more than 17,000 inmates.

Mr. Anderson was appointed Interim Director by Gov. Henry McMaster in April 2025 and was confirmed by the S.C. Senate in March 2026. Previously, Anderson was Deputy Director for Operations at SCDC, where he led operations for security, maintenance, food service, agriculture, prison industries and support services for all of South Carolina’s 21 prisons.
